Asilah has a beautiful coastline filled with golden sands, cliffs, and beaches with wind and waves perfect for practicing your favorite aquatic sports like surf, kitesurf, windsurf or sailing. It is also the ideal spot to disconnect from everyday stresses, especially since your cellphone will not have coverage in this area. Come and discover all that this city in Morocco, north Africa has to offer you! All along the coastline of Asilah we find beautiful beaches, almost all of them practically untouched by human hand. The surrounding areas are mostly free from construction, meaning that we can enjoy fine golden sands and clean, peaceful waters in an unspoilt natural landscape.
We begin our tour of the Asilah's coastline at the town's local beach; a busy strip of around 6 kilometres of golden sands, where local people flock to. During the summer the beach is supported by various different services, including lifeguards. Asilah beach is an urban beach, and it is wise to remember that we are in Morocco, so it is not advisable for women to wear bikinis or to go topless- a practice which is generally frowned upon in this part of the world.
After Asilah beach our next stop is the beach at Sidi Mugaits. This beach is off the beaten track, but there is a little beach hut called El Baraka where you can have a drink and eat some fresh fish. This lovely unspoilt beach, with its natural surroundings and beautiful cliffs, is twelve kilometres south of Asilah, measures 4 kilometres long, and is very intimate. This is an ideal beach for surfing.
Another beach worth mentioning in the Asilah area is the one at Briech, a semi suburban beach on the outskirts of the locality, and a great place to see sunsets. You can also visit Las Palomas beach and Las Barcas beach; the latter has beach bars, sun loungers and other services at your disposition. |
